Build Your Twitter

Build your Twitter – Summary

Build your Twitter!  You may have set up a Twitter account, but if you are not experiencing hundreds of “followers” being added to your account each week, then you are falling behind.  At Blue Elevator, we have developed a custom process that will equip you to create a profile that grows “followers” each and every day.  If you are ready to move forward, then read no more.  Contact Blue Elevator today for one of our custom or group advisory programs.

If you need more, please read on.  We’ll tell you why it’s important to jump in now and the importance of developing a “growing” presence on Twitter.

Build your Twitter – Why?

To be successful in today’s business climate, you need to constantly innovate and collaborate.  This is the new normal.  To be sure, we are in a brand-new economy.  This new economy is one punctuated by a vast and growing number of start-ups and ventures.  Roughly, 95% of businesses out there gross $1 million or less in annual revenue.   I am encountering more new businesses all the time.  It’s new and it’s exciting.  As with every benefit, there is also a drawback.  With the ever growing number of new and varied businesses, opportunities abound; however, choice becomes an issue.  Thirty years ago, if you were the “kid in a candy store,” you got to pick from a Snicker’s Bar, a Hershey Bar, etc.  Today, that same kid in the candy store has an untold number of tasty temptations to choose from.  Needless to say, if you sell candy bars, it is harder to stand out in a crowd.  So why should you build your Twitter?

History

One of the most exciting events in American history was the 1889 Land Rush.  For those who fell asleep in history class, let me refresh your memory.  President Benjamin Harrison opened up roughly 2 million acres for those interested in grabbing it; this followed the Homestead Act originally enacted by Abraham Lincoln in 1862.  An estimated 50,000 people (a large number back then) literally lined up to ride out on their horses and wagons to stake their claim to a 160 acre plot of land.  What do you think a 160 acre parcel of land might be worth in Southern California today? There is a similar event taking place this very minute.  What was then a physical land grab has today become an electronic one.  There are large plots of space available to those willing to venture out, stake some choice land, and begin the process of improving it.

The opportunity in Twitter-land

So, here’s why you should build your Twitter.  As of March 2013, there was an estimated 500 million Twitter accounts.  This is up from 400 million in October 2012.  So, in six months, Twitter grew by 100 million accounts.  That is crazy.  Needless to say, there is a lot of momentum out there.  Note this: as of March 2013, of the 500 million total users, there is an estimated 200 million active users.  This means that only 40% are active.  Obviously, there is a difference between just having an account and being active.

The comparison

Here’s the deal.  Like back in 1889, there is a big push for people to set up a Twitter account.  There was a catch back in 1889.  You could stake your claim; however, you had to occupy and improve the land to keep it.  Notice the above Twitter stats: only 40% are active.  Does this mean that the remaining 60% which represents inactive users will lose their account?  No, but they may virtually lose it.

Don’t be left out

You see, the 300 million inactive users are all but unnoticed.  If you want some real estate in today’s online world, you not only have to stake your claim, but you also have to improve it to keep it.  I am not suggesting that Twitter will kick you off its platform; however, your claim will almost go unnoticed.

Whereas land is a finite resource, you might argue that cyber space is not.  Be careful here.  Remember the kid in a candy store analogy earlier?  Every day, it seems that more candy options are being introduced.  Options are good for the consumer, but not for the start-up candy company trying to get noticed next to the Snicker’s bar.  In a sense, whereas we may not be competing for limited shelf-space, we are competing for limited attention spans.

Needless to say, you must stand-out in the crowd and the crowd is growing every day!  It is not enough to stake your claim.  Like it was in 1889, to avoid being run over and edged out for prime real estate, you have to occupy and improve it.  You have to build your Twitter.

The opportunity

As mentioned earlier, Blue Elevator has been working diligently in this new frontier.  We have invested countless hours navigating Twitter.  Not only that, but we have also developed a proven process to help individuals and businesses build a growing Twitter presence.  Now you can build your Twitter.  We will show you a process that will help you stand out in the crowd.

The bottom line

In our opinion, one of the main goals in maintaining a Twitter profile is to gain followers.  As with anything worthwhile, we are not offering a “get rich quick” scheme.  There are profiles on Twitter that will sell you followers.  This is akin to offering you a photo-shopped stadium crowd; fake fans that aren’t real and will never buy a hot dog or peanuts.  Just like building a quality homestead that took countless hours of your time and hard work, so will making a mark in this new frontier.  At Blue Elevator, we are excited about our advisory and believe that it includes unique insights and practices that will help move you forward.  Our approach is not only the best for building a solid foundation, but we also provide you with a business process that, if followed, will help you build your Twitter account and facilitate continual growth.  Envision your followers growing while you sleep, when you are in line at the grocery store, while you watch a movie, etc.  You get the picture.  We will literally show you how to build your Twitter account.

Challenge creates opportunity

Interestingly enough, Blue Elevator did not initially set out to create this program.  Originally, we sought to identify a referral partner that we could send our clients to.  However, in the process of vetting numerous marketing firms, internet companies, and social media managers, we noticed something.  When we asked these companies what they did to manage a Twitter account, we found that they would often talk about how much they charge to send out tweets.  I guess we just had a different idea.  We were interested in what they were doing to GROW followers for their clients.  We got all kinds of varied answers, but the gist was that they weren’t doing that.  They were just tweeting.  We began to learn that what we were doing was pretty unique – and successful.

The goal

For purposes of branding and marketing your personal or business Twitter profile, we believe that a key objective is to gain followers.  The more followers, the more real estate; the more real estate, the more presence; the more presence, the more you are noticed; the more you are noticed, the more opportunity you will have.

The excitement

We are talking about growing a real presence: real followers.  These are new prospects, new fans, exciting new partners, and potential collaborators.  As mentioned earlier, this new economy is all about innovation and collaboration.  Daily, there are more and more people and businesses entering this medium.  It is not too late – but the best real estate is going fast.  It is imperative that you get in, and get going ASAP.

Every day, we are gaining more and more followers.  When I wake up in the morning, I see more followers.   After meeting with a client, I notice more followers.  After lunch, I have even more followers.  Steadily, throughout the day, the homestead is being built brick by brick – follower by follower.

Are you in?

The sooner you get in, the sooner you can start building a real and growing organic presence for you or your business.  Things are happening fast.  The train is slow enough to jump on and go for the ride of a lifetime, but the train is going a little faster each and every day.  Soon, it will be going too fast for you jump on.  Jumping on doesn’t mean merely setting up an account.  Remember, there are roughly 300 million people that have done that.  They are not on the train.  They have a ticket – but they are not on board.

Are you ready for the ride of a lifetime?

If you are ready to get going, Blue Elevator is pleased to offer a custom group advisory program for those that are willing and able to engage.  As mentioned earlier, this is not a quick fix or a silver bullet fix.  Just like building a homestead took time and effort, so will building a substantial Twitter presence.  That being said, if you attend the group advisory and apply the principles and practices that we provide, you will be well on your way.  You will be on the train – not just holding a ticket.  Due to the intensive nature of this advisory, I need the group to be 4 to 7 people.  The group advisory will run for 2 hours per session for 4 successive weeks.  It is very important that you ensure you are able to attend each session as each advisory builds upon the prior.  This is NOT a lecture.  You will need to have your Mac, PC, or smart-phone with internet access as you will be DOING – not just listening.  You will begin to build your Twitter presence on Day 1.
